Jan 25, 2010: The latest version of Mozilla Firefox was released and can be downloaded here. This new release includes the new Gecko 1.9.2 rendering engine, support for easily changeable themes called Personas, open video formats now have the ability to be displayed in fullscreen and support for key frames, and more. Youtube is now running an HTML5 beta allowing users with compatible browsers to watch enabled videos without a flash player. This means that your web browser will be playing the video files instead of a separate application (flash). Unfortunately the video files hosted on youtube are in the h.264 format (which is encumbered with copyright and patent issues) instead of Theora (an open video format) meaning that firefox users are currently unable to utilize the beta.

Jan 16th, 2010: This week saw the next part of the Lucid Lynx development cycle unfold with the release of the second alpha of the Lynx.

Linux.com has added a Jobs tab to their website in response to the increasing demand of companies that use linux to have knowledgeable linux admins, programmers, etc.
